WORLD WATER DAY'22 ; 22nd Of March "FRESHWATER A BLESSINGS TEND TO BE ACCESSIBLE FOR ALL BY 2030"

World water day is one the most important day which is observed on the 22nd of March every year. The two important factors of this day are,

Firstly, to focus on spreading the significance of freshwater by making them aware of the way of consuming effectively and less as per need. And secondly, Working towards the sustainable management of freshwater resources.

The world water day is adopted by United Nations in September 1992 and it got started to be observed from 1993 on the 22nd of March. It is reported by experts of consensus who bring the predicted analysis of accessibility of fresh-water for the population of the world are very less As some reports show the statistics that one in three/four lives without access of safe drinking water or in 2020, Around three-quarter (74%) of the World’s Population had access to clean drinking water. According to the global burden disease studies, published in the medical journaling 2017. Namely, lancet claims based on research that 1.2 million deaths were reported every year due to unsafe water access globally. Contaminant water is a leading factor of diseases including dysentery, cholera, diarrhoea, hepatitis, etc.

According to the united nation, 2.2 billion people live without access to freshwater. A sustainable development goal agenda 2030 clearly mention to work and formulate possible ways for accessibility of fresh water and says in SDG: 6 “Water and sanitation for all by 2030” and SDG:6.1 “Achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water for all by 2030”. It has been one of the most important and timely initiatives taken by the World’s leading countries to irradicate and tackle the alarming situation of scarcity of freshwater and drinkable. As the progress of the radical step towards irradicating unsafe water issue is observed slow just of 4% increment seen in the process of SDG: 6. In 2015, only 70% of the population had access to freshwater as compared now has to 74%. If this slow progress continues or swift measures are not taken for accelerating the progress then the prescribed goal of safe and affordable water for all by 2030 would be around 82-83% numerically.

On the 22nd of March, World water day 2022 is also being observed with the passion of moving toward the solutions of freshwater available and making the world aware of the value of water and its importance as without water humanity would perish within days. As water holds significance because it is intact with everything around us. So it is important to know the value of the water. As in 2021, the prime theme of world water day was “VALUING THE WATER”. As of now in 2022 the theme has been very noticing and observant for the people to know the availably of what we have and effective consumption for the forthcoming situation.

The theme of World water day 2022, is the “GROUNDWATER” described as Making the invisible visible. Groundwater is an invisible resource with an impact visible everywhere. Groundwater is a prime and essential resource that provides almost half of all drinkable water across the globe. To Explore, protect, and sustainably utilize groundwater is the principal motive of World Water Day this year in 2022.

According to the UN, almost all of the liquid freshwater in the world is groundwater which is found underground that mainly come from rain, hail, and snowfall in aquifers. Groundwater is obtained in a large proportion we use for drinking, sanitation food production and industrial processes.

For Avoiding the loss of precious blessings of nature for the world, We all need to take action individually and collectively and make everyone aware of utilizing the water very carefully, protected from over-exploitation of it and make a difference by trying to get the freshwater accessible for all for by 2030.
